Johnny Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez laughs off dating rumours sparked during actor’s defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard

Johnny Depp‘s high-powered attorney, Camille Vasquez, has laughed off persistent rumours she is dating the Hollywood star, who she is currently representing in his US$100 million ($143 million) defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

As the actor and his ex continue to battle it out in court, many following the case have pivoted their interests to a potential romance between Depp, 58, and Vasquez, 37.

The legal eagle first caught the attention of many this week when she began cross-examining Heard inside the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse in Virginia. And the point-blank fashion she has quizzed the Aquaman actress has gained her a cult-like following on social media.

“Does the courthouse have a coroner on site? Because they’re gonna need one when our queen Camille Vasquez is done with Amber Heard and her career praise will be the queen,” one fan wrote on Twitter, while over on TikTok fans couldn’t help but notice “the way [Depp] looks at her”, sharing courtroom videos of the pair being overly affectionate.

In one video above, Vasquez could be seen whispering in Depp’s ear as he grasps her hand tightly. There is also footage of them hugging when greeting each other inside the courtroom. And in another clip. Depp could be seen pulling a chair out for his lawyer.

Some users have even been sharing photos of themselves on social media wearing ‘I heart Camille Vasquez’ T-shirts. 

Speculation of romance is so rife that TMZ asked Vasquez if there was indeed a blossoming romance between the pair.

“The people want to know, are you dating Johnny Depp? It’s all over the internet. Can you set the record straight, yes or no?” the TMZ reporter asked Vasquez. 

The Californian refused to answer the question but she did laugh while brushing her hair aside and waving to fans outside the courthouse.

Likewise, a source close to the Pirates of the Caribbean star told ET that Depp and Vasquez’s relationship is strictly professional, saying the rumours are “entirely, 100 per cent, unequivocally untrue”.

According to Extra, Vasquez — who graduated from law school in 2010 — dating reportedly dating a British real estate agent for months.
